Too simple!

It has potential, but it's currently simply too simple. You should also give credit to the musician. That music was used in so many Flash games that I think it's kind of boring. It's a bad loop, anyway. Too short.

You should try adding variations to the click challenges. A few ideas come to mind. You could make the button move. You could also add sound effects and have an invisible button hidden somewhere on the screen. You could say "Find the button and click it as many times as you can!"

(I like this comment)

As I was doing my late night routine, I was thinking about adding other challenges and etc. I really like that you stated.

Thanks!

Lazy. Nothing of merit.

The art is terrible, and the interactivity comes down to dragging objects around. There's no depth control, and I can't get the accessories to look right on the pig. Also, why a pig?

PinkRose11 responds:

Im not quite sure what "depth control" is, please tell via PM. And to awnser your question about the pig, I was looking around my room for an idea for a very simple flash that I could make/post withen a day, and I saw the piggy bank next to my laptop. So there xD As for the art, what dont you like about it? Please share. Thanks!

Wow, reward earned.

Voices are awesome, cutscenes are awesome, in-game animations are awesome, everything is top notch, grade A for awesome. I like the controls, too, but there is one flaw with them. When using the scroll wheel to change weapons, it scrolls the browser window. Also, the filesize, while warranted for such an awesome game, might scare a lot of people away. Oh, and the ads, there might have been a little too many of those.

Dragy2005 responds:

Hey, thanks man!
True, mouse scroll is a problematic control in flash player. In the next game this will not be out there as default. For now you can fix this experience by playing on window (popup).

Filesize is this way when you get so many scenes in. We're trying to figure out ways to make the next game at least 10mb smaller so it won't scare players away.

Ads on the 'daily tip' are randomised, 1 in 20 would be an ad and the rest are gameplay tips. You might have got a bit of bad luck and you got an ad after every stage. I'll try to fix it by making a count.

Not bad, could look better.

I think the visual representation could use work. Obviously, it would be much better if you used AS3, because you would have more features available. That said, bravo! I like it. It's a fun way to explore NG Audio.

MCarsten responds:

Thanks for go in the Audio Portal journey! Yeah, I used AS2 for code this. Thanks for review! :)

Unoriginal, not well duplicated.

It shows you know how to code or, at least, rip code from others and make it work. I know it's supposed to be a remake, but it's not, really. It's more of a fan game for an arcade game. If it was a remake, it would have everything the original had and maybe a little extra.

Your animations are lacking. The explosions are boring, and the stage is even more boring. The grid doesn't have that really awesome distortion effect, and the stage doesn't scroll. The AI is dumb, more dumb than the original GW, often running right into my bullets. The music is ripped directly from GW and the original artist was not given credit.

AmazingAdam4 responds:

Well it comes down to Flash's engine. I trialled both the dynamic grid and particle explosions but both effected game play through frame rate drop dramatically, so in an attempt to save game play I sacrificed the unessential effects.

Right-click, play.

I see there was some effort put into this, but you didn't bother to remove the ability to right-click and press play, which sends you to the next level. Also, it doesn't work properly. I kept clicking on things and finally, the cigar was put in the guy's mouth, and I saw "-win" on the green box that was supposed to be a desk.

Here are my 3 suggestions to you:
1. study programming a lot more
2. study game design a lot more
3. practice drawing.

Lucy88 responds:

That way you only skip the levels, and do not play the game.

Not yet working!

This should not be on NG, because it is not even worthy of being called a demo. A demo should be fully (or mostly) functional but limited for the purpose of demonstration only. It should not be for showing your work-in-progress game while you make every little bit of it.

Once the game is complete, submit the complete version.
Until then, expect to get blammed.

billytheretard responds:

Lol you're an idiot, next time before you comment on something, wait for the game to load! The game is not going to get blammed because it doesn't support idiots who don't want to wait around a minute.

I love video games. I can play them day and night, when time allows. I also grew up watching anime, and I have fond memories of DBZ and a few other shows from the Toonami years. My, how time flies... I plan on getting back into animation.
